Summer Program 2010
Summer Production
The culmination of the Intensive Summer Program is the Summer
Production, a fully-staged theatrical production incorporating all the elements
studied during the summer.

An Intensive, Integrated Training Program
• Intermediate • Advanced • Pre–Professional •
A progressive & developmental program for
the students on Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance Techniques with
supplementary classes in Jazz, Tap, Character Dance and Modern– a complete
dance training package. Other classes include Conditioning to help prevent
injury by strengthening support muscle groups for dancers. And to understand the
demands of repertory pieces, students will learn the principles of Composition
& Choreography, encouraging them to create their own pieces.
Artistic Director: Teresa Emmons is a graduate
of The Juilliard School. She has guested and danced an extensive repertoire of
the classics and contemporary works all over the United States including the San
Diego Ballet, State of Alabama Ballet and the Lincoln Center Dance Ensemble. Her
works has been performed by the Dance Theatre of Harlem, regional ballet
companies and by Olympic skating champions Kitty and Peter Carruthers.

Alexander Boitsov. Danced with the Donetsk Ballet in Russia and trained
under the Vaganova Method. Director of the International Ballet Academy.

NEW Students for Summer Intensive 2009: Call to arrange
for an evaluation class. In lieu of an evaluation class, enclose a video of
yourself in a current ballet class. There is a
Non–refundable $25.00 Application and Evaluation Fee. Ask

In addition to our Intensive Summer Program, we offer classes
for beginning dancers and others interested in a less demanding
schedule.
Elem 1, B1, B1/B2
July 20–24
A concentrated week of dance including ballet, jazz, musical theatre,
choreography, French, conditioning, dance history, health, costume, and stage
awareness. Dancers will be able to view the Ballet Theatre of Dover in
rehearsal, and gain an understanding of a pre-professional dancer’s world.

Nutcracker - Alice in Wonderland
Pieces from the ballet “Nutcracker” will be taught such as
the Chinese Dance, Spanish Dance and the Candy Canes. Musical Excerpts from
“Alice in Wonderland” will also be learned
June 22 – 26
Giselle - An American in Paris
Pieces from the ballet “Giselle” will be taught such as the
Dance of the Wilis and the Village Dance. Musical Excerpts from the Gene Kelly
musical, “An American in Paris” will be learned.
July 6 – 10
Cinderella - Oliver
Pieces from the ballet “Cinderella” will be taught such as
the Dance of the Hours and the Fairies of the Seasons. Musical Excerpts from
“Oliver” will be studied.
July 13 – 17
La Bayadere - A Bollywood Musical
Pieces from the ballet “La Bayadere” (the Temple Dancer),
will be taught such as ‘Scarf Dance’. Musical Excerpts from “Bollywood’
(the musical) will be studied.
Dance Camps - $ 145.00/week
Pre-Intensive Program - $230.00/week
Plus $15 Registration for NEW Students.
• On the first day of classes, the students will be separated into age and
ability appropriate classes to maximize their learning abilities.
• On the last day of camp, Friday, there will be an OPEN HOUSE at 11:30 am for
a showcase–demo of the students’ work and classes. This event will be held
at the Dance Conservatory. Parents and friends are invited.
